The next baseball legends have to start somewhere.

It could be at the Riverside Sandlot Softball & Baseball Camp.

The summer tradition returned to Riverside this week.

Kids who love baseball and softball practiced at camps held Tuesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 17, at the city’s Hunter Hobby Park.

Youths between 6 and 13 worked with coaches to take swings, make throws and run the bases as they prepared for games scheduled for Saturday, July 19.

The city’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, Riverside Community Parks Association and the Riverside Police Foundation presented the event.
