The Centennial, Santiago and Chaparral girls water polo teams received the No. 1 seed in their respective divisions as the CIF Southern Section released its pairings for the 2024 playoffs Saturday morning.
Centennial, which shared the Big VIII League championship with King this season, is the No. 1 seed in the Division 3 bracket. The Huskies (26-1) open the postseason at home Tuesday against Glendora (12-12). Centennial is seeking its second section title in three seasons, having won the Division 5 championship in 2022.
Santiago finished third in the Big VIII League standings but still received the No. 1 seed in the Division 4 playoff bracket. The Sharks (18-3) will host Beaumont (16-12) in a first-round match Tuesday.
Chaparral, which finished second to Murrieta Valley in the Southwestern League standings, is the No. 1 seed in the Division 5 bracket. The Pumas (15-4) open at home Tuesday against Diamond Bar (7-13).
Four other Inland girls water polo teams earned a Top 4 seeding in their respective playoffs divisions.
Alta Loma won the Division 4 championship last season and is the No. 2 seed in Division 2 this season after going unbeaten in the Palomares League. The Braves (16-8) host Mira Costa (10-19) in Wednesday’s opening round.
Los Osos, which finished second to Rancho Cucamonga in the Baseline League standings, is the No. 2 seed in the Division 4 bracket. The Grizzlies (20-5) received a first-round bye and will host Santa Ana or Crescenta Valley in a second-round match Wednesday.
Paloma Valley, which won the Sunbelt League championship, is the No. 4 seed in the Division 5 bracket. The Wildcats (21-7) open the postseason at home Tuesday against Montclair (10-15).
Webb finished fourth in the Valle Vista League standings but still received the No. 3 seed in the Division 6 playoff bracket. The Gauls (12-8) will host Tustin (10-10) in a wild-card match Tuesday.
