The celebration of Native American music, art and dancing was staged Friday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Sept. 28, on the Morongo Indian Reservation near Cabazon.

The 34th annual event featured more than 900 dancers and 20 drum groups from across the nation and Canada, a news release states.

The powwow “provides a unique opportunity for guests to experience the beauty and vibrancy of Native American dance, music and art,” Morongo Tribal Chairman Charles Martin said in the release.
