The song says the circle of life “moves us all.”

Those lyrics — from the “Circle of Life” tune — held true at Riverside’s Pachappa Elementary School, where more than 100 students in two casts took part in staging a musical based on Disney’s “The Lion King.”

The audience of teachers, parents and other students was moved by eight rousing performances of the show called the “Circle of Life” between Thursday, Nov. 13, and Tuesday, Nov. 18. Tammy Perini was the director.

Youths from kindergarten to sixth grade donned animal costumes to deliver their rendition of the story of Simba, the lion cub who’s destined to become king.

The school, which is across the street from the Riverside Plaza, crafted elaborate costumes and sets for the show, which includes hyenas, giraffes, zebras and, of course, lions.
