A 40-year-old man was fatally shot at a Moreno Valley residence early Sunday, Jan. 28, and a suspect was being sought by authorities.
Around 1:45 a.m., the victim was shot at a home in the 13600 block of Red Mahogany Drive, near Cottonwood Avenue and Kitching Street, with the suspect fleeing before authorities arrived, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Witnesses described the suspect to deputies as a man in his 20s.
The victim, who had been shot at least once, was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, authorities said.
His identity was not released on Sunday, and no arrests had been announced by authorities.
