Addison Deal’s night began with a special jersey presentation for her selection to the upcoming McDonald’s All-American game. It ended with the senior leading her team to another win.

The Iowa-bound guard scored 26 points and added 12 rebounds and four assists to power Mater Dei’s girls basketball team to a 62-35 victory against Windward in the teams’ Open Division Pool B opener at Mater Dei High.

In helping the No. 3 seeded Monarchs (26-2) extend their winning streak to 15 games, Deal made 12 of 22 shots from the floor.

UC Irvine-bound post Nohe’alani Stores added 18 points for Mater Dei on 8 of 12 shooting from the floor. The senior had eight rebounds.

Stella Hoss and Southern Utah-bound Devyn Kiernan also had four assists to share the team lead with Deal.

Mater Dei led 41-15 at halftime.

The Monarchs play host to No. 7 Fairmont Prep on Wednesday in the teams’ second game in Pool B.

Also in the Open Division:

Etiwanda 96, Fairmont Prep 57: Adyra Rajan scored a game-high 27 points, including six 3-pointers, in the loss for the visiting No. 2 seed Huskies (20-9). Maria Mejia and Sarah Aldeguer each added 10 points for seventh-seeded Fairmont Prep.

Ontario Christian 68, Sage Hill 35: Kamdyn Klamberg scored 15 points and Amalia Holguin added 11 in the loss for the Lightning (19-9) at the No. 1-ranked team in the nation. Sage Hill plays at Sierra Canyon in Pool A on Wednesday.

In Division 2AA:

Portola 51, Campbell Hall 42: Nina Saiki scored 21 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs (16-14), who advanced to play at Buena Park in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

Top-seeded Buena Park defeated West Torrance 73-49 in another second round game.

San Juan Hills 68, Diamond Bar 56: Utah Valley-bound Anna Shreeve scored 30 points and grabbed a school-record 11 steals to lead the visiting Stallions (19-11). Diamond Bar lost Jalyn Winston (23 points) to injury with 2:46 left in the third quarter and San Juan Hills lead 41-40. The Stallions play host to Oak Park in the quarterfinals.

In Division 2A:

Sonora 71, Torrance 55: Sydnie Lendsey scored 20 points and Liana Hwang added 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Raiders (17-14), who play host Rolling Hills Prep in the quarterfinals.

Rosary 53, La Canada 34: Kate Duarte tallied 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the visiting Royals (16-12), who play at Notre Dame Academy in the quarterfinals.
