A Hemet city employee died following a collision in which a vehicle crashed into a parked Hemet Public Works truck just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The employee, identified only as an adult male, was on duty at the time of the crash. The passenger vehicle was traveling west on Acacia Avenue when the driver collided with the truck, which was parked west of the intersection of Kirby Street and Acacia Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and detained the driver of the passenger vehicle, arresting the driver on suspicion of DUI-related charges.
