FRIDAY’S TOP GAMES
BASELINE LEAGUE
Damien (4-2, 1-0) at Upland (2-4, 0-1), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Damien snapped a two-game skid by beating Etiwanda 45-10 in last week’s league opener. Junior Isaiah Arriaza has passed for 1,689 yards and 16 touchdowns and added four scores on the ground. Sophomore Travon Garrison has caught 29 passes for 561 yards and eight touchdowns. Senior linebacker Caden Arellano leads the Spartans on defense with 42 tackles. Upland fell to Rancho Cucamonga 10-7 last week, marking the Highlanders’ fourth straight loss. Sophomore Lequand Jackson has thrown for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns and added five scores on the ground. Senior Justin Benson has 31 receptions for 518 yards and six touchdowns. Senior linebacker Noah Guerrero leads the defense with 56 tackles. Upland has a 7-3 edge in this series since 2014, but Damien has won the past two meetings.

BIG WEST CONFERENCE-NORTH DIVISION
Murrieta Valley (5-1, 1-0) at Chaparral (5-1, 1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: This will be the 25th meeting between these programs, with each school winning 12 times. Murrieta Valley opened league play with a 42-27 victory over Norco Last week. Freshman Ty Isaia threw three touchdown passes, and senior Dorian Hoze ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Junior linebacker Abelardo Leos leads the Nighthawks on defense with 53 tackles. Senior Cam Connor has returned five kicks (four punts, one kickoff) for touchdowns this season. Chaparral cruised to a 55-28 win over Vista Murrieta last week. Sophomore Dane Weber passed for 234 yards and a touchdown and added 167 yards and three scores on the ground for the Pumas Senior Jayce Venable ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Senior linebacker Justin Selway leads the defense with 43 tackles.

CITRUS BELT LEAGUE
Beaumont (5-1) at Yucaipa (4-2), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Beaumont erased a 19-point, first-half deficit and rallied for 34-31 victory over Cajon in last week’s league opener. Junior Jeremiah Duhu passed for 146 yards and two touchdowns and added 102 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Braedon Miller had four catches for 96 yards and his sixth touchdown reception. Junior linebacker Matthew Casas leads the Cougars on defense with 63 tackles. Yucaipa let an early lead slip away in last week’s 38-26 loss to Citrus Valley. The Thunderbirds are led on offense by senior running back Logan Barbour (808 yards, 13 touchdowns). Senior linebacker Will McHargue has recorded a team-high 59 tackles.

IRONWOOD LEAGUE
Cerritos Valley Christian (6-0, 1-0) at Aquinas (4-2, 1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: The winner of this game will have the inside track on the league championship. Aquinas knocked off Ontario Christian 27-13 in last week’s league opener. Cal-bound all-purpose player Jusyis “Jojo” Solis racked up 145 yards from scrimmage and scored a pair of touchdowns for the Falcons, and sophomore Champ Brown added 101 yards on the ground. Sophomore linebacker Anthony Uribe had 17 tackles to lead the defense. Valley Christian rolled to a 33-13 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian last week. Senior Austin Abrahams has passed for 1,235 yards and 14 touchdowns and added 271 yards and 12 scores on the ground.

MESQUITE LEAGUE
Arrowhead Christian Academy (2-3, 1-0) at Linfield Christian (2-3, 1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Arrowhead Christian pulled out a 21-18 victory over Whittier Christian in last week’s league opener. Senior Max Hilliard has rushed for 460 yards and three touchdowns, and sophomore Cole Fornelli has thrown five touchdown passes over the past two games. Senior linebacker Zach Myers leads the Eagles in defense with 61 tackles. Linfield Christian outlasted Maranatha 42-35 in last week’s league opener. Junior Micah Little ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the final minute. Senior Thomas Paschal has thrown for 1,241 yards and 13 touchdowns. Sophomore linebacker Madden Mayer leads the Lions on defense with 65 tackles.

RIVER VALLEY LEAGUE
Norte Vista (6-0, 1-0) at Ramona (6-0, 1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: The league champion very would could be decided by the result of this games. Norte Vista escaped with a 28-21 win over Patriot in last week’s league opener. Junior Dreadie Allain has rushed for 774 yards and eight touchdowns, and senior quarterback Seth Bolender has accounted for 13 touchdowns (eight passing, five rushing). Junior King Butler caught a touchdown pass last week, and his four interception of the season sealed the win for the Braves down the stretch. Ramona routed La Sierra 56-3 last week. Senior Sincere Tolbert has rushed for 897 yards and 12 touchdowns, and senior quarterback Kody Shinar has eight total touchdowns (five passing, three rushing). Senior linebacker Angel Barrios leads the Rams on defense with 75 tackles. Norte Vista coach Ken Batdorf has a 20-6 record against Ramona (dating back to 1994). Ramona has won 12 straight games dating back to last season, the sixth longest active streak in the state. The Rams’ last loss was to Norte Vista (31-10) in last year’s regular-season finale.

Hemet (6-0, 1-0) vs. Hillcrest (5-1, 1-0) at Norte Vista HS, 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Hemet opened league play last week with a 40-26 victory over Riverside Poly. Senior Draven Lopez passed for 255 yards and threw touchdown passes to four different receivers. Lopez also registered two interceptions on defense for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Drew Neal ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Hillcrest outlasted Arlington 35-28 in last week’s league opener. Junior Matthew Ramos threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns, and senior Julian Sandoval has nine catches for 185 yards and three touchdown for the Trojans. Senior linebacker Robert Bustamante leads Hillcrest’s defense with 54 tackles.

VALLE VISTA LEAGUE
San Dimas (5-1, 1-0) at Northview (6-0, 1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: San Dimas knocked off West Covina 35-19 in last week’s league opener. Senior Julian Vigil has rushed for 812 yards on 54 carries (15 yards per carry) and scored 12 touchdowns. Senior Caleb Morquecho has added 471 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground for the Saints. Northview opened league play last week with a 42-0 victory over Diamond Ranch. Senior Keanu Tauvao has rushed for 836 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in five games for the Vikings. Junior linebacker Miguel Guillen leads the defense with 38 tackles. San Dimas has a 12-11 edge in the series since 2001, but Northview has won the past three meetings.
