A wildfire broke out Sunday and spread south of Beaumont.

Initially reported at around 150 acres, by around 6 p.m. it was measured at 186 acres.

The Jack fire was reported at 4:29 p.m. in the area of Jack Rabbit Trail and the 60 Freeway, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the blaze, which was spreading in the hills at a “rapid rate,” fire officials said on X.

Multiple ground and air resources were assigned to the brush fire.

No evacuations had been ordered. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
