Back-to-school shopping is more fun when it’s free.

Ask the nearly 150 youths who collected clothes and supplies Saturday, Aug. 2, during two Kohl’s shopping sprees.

In Redlands and Riverside, members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside got to grab $200 worth of merchandise.

Smiles were contagious at the Kohl’s in Citrus Plaza in Redlands and at the Riverside store on Tyler Street.

Volunteers guided children during their sprees, which took place before the stores’ regular hours.

In Redlands, approximately 95 children went shopping, while about 50 did so in Riverside.

The event was staged with help from the Kiwanis Club of Redlands, Kiwanis Club of Riverside and the Redlands Elks Lodge.
