The city of Riverside Fire Department is joining ABC7 and firefighters throughout Southern California in the Spark of Love toy drive running through Dec. 12.

The campaign collects new, unwrapped toys, sports equipment, blankets and gift cards for underserved children and teens, from birth to age 17, in Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. Over the past two and a half decades the Spark of Love toy drive has collected more than 9 million toys, according to a news release.

In Riverside, donations can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at any of the 14 city fire stations. If firefighters are away, donations should not be left outside the fire stations. Donations may also be dropped off at any city of Riverside community center, according to the news release.
