
The Riverside Philharmonic invites orchestra patrons and community leaders to Jazz Meets Orchestra … An Exclusive Evening with the Conductor,” an event featuring live music and conversation about the orchestra’s upcoming performances and more, 4-6 p.m. Feb. 28 in downtown Riverside.
At the event, violinist Tomasz Golka, music director of the Riverside Philharmonic, and Ryan Whyman’s jazz trio will perform music including Claude Bolling’s “Suite for Violin and Jazz Piano Trio,” according to the Riverside Philharmonic’s website.
In addition, Jamie Azpeitia-Sachs, the orchestra’s new executive director, will speak about the orchestra’s evolving partnerships, upcoming performances and initiatives designed to strengthen the cultural life of Riverside and the Inland Empire, according to a news release from the Riverside Philharmonic.
“This evening offers a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from us about the direction of the philharmonic and the exciting ventures ahead,” Azpeitia-Sachs said in the news release. “It is both a celebration of artistry and a glimpse into the future.”
Tickets are $135.23, available at RiversidePhilharmonic.org, and space is limited. Those who confirm attendance will receive the event location, according to the website.
The Inland Empire Contemporary Ballet is among the event sponsors.
