
The Sierra Linda Master Chorale will present a Christmas concert, “From Heaven to Us,” 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 4495 Magnolia Ave., Riverside.
Ariel Quintana will direct the 60-member chorale in a program featuring old and new holiday music.
The concert begins with a setting of “Gloria” by Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi, accompanied by period instruments, and ends with contemporary composer John Rutter’s “Gloria.”
The program also includes settings of “Ding Dong Merrily on High,” “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night” and “Coventry Carol” and music by Eric Whitacre, Dan Forrest and Hugo Alfvén.
Soloists will be Alina Roitstein and Claire Pegram, and accompanists are Kimo Smith and Jonathan Mamora, according to a news release from the chorale.
Admission is free, though a $20 donation is appreciated.
The Sierra Linda Master Chorale, founded in 2020 online during the COVID-19 pandemic, is a nonprofit choir based in Southern California, according to the choir’s website. The Sierra Linda Master Chorale’s repertoire ranges from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions.
