Glowing hot air balloons. Good wine. Country tunes.

It’s time again for the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Music Festival.

The event, which started in 1983, returned starting Friday, June 20, to the Lake Skinner Recreation Area in Winchester in southwest Riverside County.

Guests are enjoying a weekend of music, wine, vendors and other activities — including line dancing and balloon rides — at the three-day event that concludes Sunday, June 22.

A hot air balloon glow, during which vividly colored balloons are filled up in the darkness, took place Friday night, June 20, with another set for Saturday night, June 21.

Country music rules this year’s stages, with Alabama being the biggest name. The group, which had a string of hits in the 1970s and early 1980s, will perform Sunday, June 22.

The festival grounds are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
