Downtown Redlands was bustling early Sunday morning, Oct. 6, as thousands of people, ready and in their walking shoes and many donning colorful attire, gathered on State Street to kick off the 17th annual Stater Bros. Charities Believe Walk.
The 5K walk through the city honors cancer survivors.
Cheer groups, live music, and entertainment lined the route for the family- and dog-friendly event, which ended at the Redlands Bowl Sunday morning, crossing the finish line and entering the “Believe Bash.” Participants were welcomed by more than 60 vendors and music from a live band, according to a news release.
During Sunday’s events, cancer survivors were also able to take part in a survivor photo, a dove release, and ring the survivor bell.
The Believe Walk supports the fight against all types of cancer by raising funds to support programs and services at cancer-fighting organizations in Southern California, Stater Bros. Markets says on its website.
More than $9.8 million has been invested in cancer-fighting organizations throughout Southern California from the Believe Walk, according to the release.
