Eileen Collins, the first woman to pilot and command a space shuttle, will soon be in the Inland Empire.
Collins is set to appear Friday, Feb. 20, during a fundraiser at the March Field Air Museum near Riverside.
The event will feature dinner, a movie and an appearance by Collins, who will sign autographs.
Collins is a member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame and is named among the Living Legends of Aviation, a museum news release states.
“Spacewoman,” a 2024 documentary about Collins’ achievements, will be screened. The event also will include movie snacks and a no-host bar.
Individual tickets are $100. Sponsorship packages are available. The event, scheduled for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., will benefit the nonprofit museum.
