Two 3.0+ earthquakes were reported in the Inland Empire on Saturday near Fontana, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first magnitude 3.5 earthquake happened at around 2:17 p.m. about 4.5 miles northwest of Fontana and about a mile and a half deep into the ground, the USGS said.
Six hours later, a 3.4 quake occurred at around 8:17 p.m. at a depth of over 2 miles deep into the ground 3.7 miles north, northwest of Fontana.
The quakes were felt as far northwest as Santa Clarita and to the southeast in Temecula, residents reported to the USGS per its Internet Intensity Map.
