The Death Valley area is the focus of an updated wind advisory issued at 12:12 a.m. on Sunday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is valid between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The NWS Las Vegas NV said, “Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” the NWS said. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”

The full list of affected locations includes:

  • Owens Valley
  • Death Valley National Park
  • Northeast Clark County
  • Western Clark and Southern Nye County
  • Las Vegas Valley
  • Lincoln County
