The competition is on to find the best young scientists.

On Friday, Feb. 28, students from across Riverside County presented their scientific findings to judges as the Riverside County Science and Engineering Fair got underway.

They explored topics as varied as Chuck E. Cheese animatronics, the amount of fizz in bath bombs and mathematical equations that could predict mpox outbreaks, a Riverside County Office of Education news release states.

The fair at the Riverside Convention Center concludes Saturday, March 1, when the public can view projects between 9 a.m. and noon. An awards ceremony is scheduled to immediately follow.
